Toronto Tamagotchi Club - Largest Tamagotchi Wedding (World Record attempt)

On Sunday August 10th, I was one of the photographers that documented the Toronto Tamagotchi Club’s attempt at setting a World Record for the Largest Tamagotchi Wedding! The event lasted about 4 hours during a pretty humid day but the Cecil Community Centre provided some cool AC. I started out the day by photographing a few people waiting outside and in the hallway. Then captured people registering their Tamagotchi, enjoying the activities tables and mingling.

Everyone then gathered around for some speeches, thank you’s and a group photo! This was followed by vows and then the wedding ceremony (the world record attempt) began! Everyone had an hour to marry off their Tamagotchi and then re-register their now married Tamagotchi. Only a few Tamagotchi were left unmarried after the one hour mark.

Afterwards everyone enjoyed a first dance their their now married Tamagotchi, and a special dance for the unmarried ones followed. Around this time the event was winding down and people were heading out. As the space was clearing I decided it would be a great time to get a portrait of Twoey, the founder of the Toronto Tamagotchi Club, surrounded by Tamagotchi.

This event was a lot of fun, one of the reasons I love living in Toronto. I will update this page when there is more info about the World Record attempt.
